Omar Yagoubi, compositeur et pianiste français, vient au monde à Lens en 1957 d’une mère polonaise et d’un père algérien.
Repéré très jeune, grâce à France-Musique, par le grand Maître Aldo Ciccolini, il est remarqué par son style immédiatement reconnaissable et authentique. Il est nommé meilleur soliste français à 29 ans aux Victoires de la musique en 1987. Il obtient la « Note d’Or » de la meilleur musique de film en 2001 (Gorgone productions, Cercle bleu). La Renaissance Française( Présidente d’honneur Mme Simone Veil) lui décerne la prestigieuse Médaille d’Or du Rayonnement Culturel en 2018. Il reçoit également la Médaille d’Or de la Ville d’Arras le 14 juillet 2019 des mains du Maire, M. Frédéric Leturque.
Ses œuvres reflètent le lien entre orient et occident. On lui doit un Stabat Mater, cinq concertos, deux pour piano, un pour violon, un pour percussions ainsi que pour l’accordéon, deux oratorios, une cantate, un poème symphonique d’après « Mémoires Hadrien » de Marguerite Yourcenar, de la musique de chambre, une symphonie et des œuvres pour piano solo. Les Sentiers de l’espace dédié aux astronautes et à Thomas Pesquet, ainsi que « Trois regards sur l’enfant autiste » complètent cette production hors norme. Omar Yagoubi est également auteur de nouvelles et romans. Il collabore avec La société des Amis de Louis Aragon et d’Elsa Triolet, et, également, pour la biographie de son grand-père aux Editions Les Lumières de Lille (Thierry Maricourt).

Biography
Omar Yagoubi, a French composer and pianist, was born in Lens in 1957 to a Polish mother and an Algerian father.
Discovered at a very young age, thanks to France Musique, by the great Maestro Aldo Ciccolini, he was recognized for his immediately recognizable and authentic style. He was named Best French Soloist at the Victoires de la Musique awards in 1987. He received the « Note d’Or » award for Best Film Score in 2001 (Gorgone Productions, Cercle Bleu). The Renaissance Française (Honorary President: Simone Veil) awarded him the prestigious Gold Medal for Cultural Influence in 2018. He also received the Gold Medal of the City of Arras on July 14, 2019, from the Mayor, Frédéric Leturque.
His works reflect the connection between East and West. His works include a Stabat Mater, five concertos (two for piano, one for violin, one for percussion, and one for accordion), two oratorios, a cantata, a symphonic poem based on Marguerite Yourcenar’s « Mémoires Hadrien, » chamber music, a symphony, and works for solo piano. « Les Sentiers de l’espace » (The Paths of Space), dedicated to astronauts and Thomas Pesquet, and « Trois regards sur l’enfant autiste » (Three Perspectives on the Autistic Child) complete this exceptional body of work. Omar Yagoubi is also the author of short stories and novels. He collaborates with the Society of Friends of Louis Aragon and Elsa Triolet, and also contributed to the biography of his grandfather, published by Les Lumières de Lille (Thierry Maricourt).
